A One-Zero-Zero Postiversary: Help Us Celebrate!

Guess what? Thursday’s post marked my 100th post on this little blog. In honor of that milestone, I thought I’d share 100 things about myself followed by 100 things about Rick followed by 100 pictures of my cats sleeping.

What? You wouldn’t stick around for that? Okay. Maybe I’ll just share some things about us related to the number 100, and then I’d love for you to share some of the same details about you…if you’re not totally miffed that I didn’t include 100 pictures of my cats sleeping. ;)

What I’d do with $100 found in the backyard: Put it in the bank and fret about how to spend it because even though it’s basically free money, I still want to get the best bang for my buck and will always prefer a bargain over something full-price. I’m bad at buying things full price.

What Rick would do with $100 found in the backyard: Put it in his Rick Is Going to Buy a Baby Grand Piano Someday Fund.

What I’d name a movie about 100 Dalmatians plus one: 101 Dalmatians. Oh, has that been done?

Something we live approximately 100 miles from: IKEA Toronto. We just got our passports…

Something we live approximately 100 minutes from: Italy. Italy, New York, that is. Who knew?

Something we live approximately 100 yards from: This lake.

The 100th song on our iTunes playlist: “Broken & Beautiful” by Mark Schultz.

A weird thing I’ve done more than 100 times in my life: Gotten bruises on my legs exactly at the level of my students’ desks because I’m a clod and don’t look where I’m going, and also because I don’t take the time to pay attention to my surroundings when I’m quickly moving toward a student who is about to throw hand sanitizer at the ceiling.

Something I’d gladly take 100 of: Cats! Just kidding. My limit has always been 99.

Something Rick would gladly take 100 of: Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups. He’ll be expecting a shipment from one of you shortly.

Something I wouldn’t want to come within 100 feet of: A dead rat. Or a living, breathing rat. I’m a wimp.

A restaurant I’d gladly take a $100 gift card to: Olive Garden.

What I’d do with 100mcg of Levothyroxine: Levothywhowhat?

What Rick would do with 100mcg of Levothyroxine: Take it away from me and give it to a needy patient like the responsible pharmacist he was trained to be.

My favorite thing to do when it’s 100 degrees outside: Make friends with the nearest air-conditioned building and eat an Edy’s frozen fruit bar. (Will mentioning this summon warm weather? I think winter has finally arrived here.)

What I’d do with 100 yards of fabric: Make a million pillows for every room in the house. YES.

What Rick would do with 100 yards of fabric: Take it back to the store before I could make a million pillows out of all of it.

What I’m going to look like when I’m 100:

Ha. This is actually just what I look like when I craft old lady-ish things; I doubt my lucky kerchief will still be in style 75 years from now…

Okay: your turn! I’d love to learn more about you, my readers, so help us celebrate our postiversary by sharing one or some of the “100” facts that we did!

  1. YEAH, 100 posts!! I'd panic with 100 yards of fabric, I'd take a $100 gift card to our favorite Italian restaurant up in Duluth, and if I found $100 I would probably give myself permission to go buy a new jacket. I have a thing for jackets.

  2. What I’d do with $100 found in the backyard: Buy new curtains immediately!

What [Justin] would do with $100 found in the backyard: Put it in the bank and fret about how to spend it because even though it’s basically free money, he would still want to get the best bang for his buck and will always prefer a bargain over something full-price. He's bad at buying things full price.

There's gotta be one in every relationship. Makes the world go round I suppose . . . or makes us not end up bankrupt :)

    1. haha too funny! I guess it does make a good balance. :)

  3. You are so funny. I love the pic of "old lady" you.
If I found $100 I would take a look at Etsy to find a new piece of decor or artwork for the house.
I just asked the hubby and he said if he found $100, he would take me out to a nice dinner. Someone is obviously trying to win some brownie points this morning ;)

  4. Congrats friend!! Let's see...if I found $100 in the backyard I'd probably wonder how it got there and then go look for more. I too would like 100 yards of fabric...I'd just need to hire myself a seamstress. Maybe that's what I'd use the backyard money for.

    1. hahaha I think a good seamstress would cost about that, so good plan. ;)

  5. hmmm if i had $100 to any restaurant it would be a sushi place! we have done budget cuts at our house and don't eat sushi like we used to and i miss it!

  6. With $100 found in the back yard I'd definitely buy some decorative things for the house and we'd love a $100 gift card to Carrabba's! Fun idea! And congrats on 100 posts!

  7. Yay 100 posts!! If I found $100 I would probably be like you and fret about what to spend it on. I hate full price things as well!! I decided to shop at Goodwills on vacation because I can still find sweet souvenir that only cost $1 rather than $25. :)

  8. Congrats! I agree with Rick - 100 Reese's would be amazing! :)

  9. If I found $100 I would dream about buying a new pair of shoes, then feel guilty and want to get something like a new ceiling fan since that would be more practical but eventually every last dime would go towards diapers because that's all we buy now.

    1. I do the same thing--convince myself that the practical should come first! I guess that's not a BAD thing...but not always as fun as the non-practical thing. :)

  10. I relate to the 100 bruises and I would probably fret about the $100 dollars as well.

Approx 100 yards from our house, I think (I'm not good with distance) is our favorite grocery store, which is dangerous and wonderful at the same time :)

  11. Congratulations! 100 Reeses would be wonderful... Or Nutrageous bars, which are related. I'm with you on the $100...I'd head toward something I want, then feel like I should be practical and probably buy shoes for one of the kids! I could also spend it quickly on books. I wrote a blog post about my encounter with a dead rat in my sewing room, thanks to 1 of our 3 cats, which is also where I think I already have over 100 yards of fabric...

  12. My husband is obsessed with PB cups too. Weird.

100mcg levothyroxine.....I would also take it from you because I am also a trained responsible pharmacist. :P I'm glad you all picked levothyroxine. Makes me smile.

I would love $100 to Jimmy Johns. Mmm, I want Jimmy Johns. Can you tell it's tax season and Nate isn't home to cook for me?

    Congrats on #100!!

    1. haha I don't even know what levowhatever does...it just is fun to say. :)

  13. Hahahaha :) I'd take $100 to Longhorn Steakhouse (YUMMM STEAK) and if I found $100, would plunk it right down on the mortgage, or spend it on something fancy for our office redo, depending on the exact mood I was in at that moment. :) Andy will share Rick's PBcups, BTW. And I would also totally look at 100 pics of your cats. I have cat envy.

  14. What an exciting and proud week! I am the mother of 2 daughters who each celebrated an
-iversary: a postiversary and a monthiversary!

Also, though the ability to accessorize sadly skipped a generation, it's comforting to know that the time-honored aversion to buying things full-price has made it successfully through to the next generation.

  15. Ha! Hahahahahaa!! I would take $100 to Chipotle. Oh my cow, do I love some Chipotle.

  16. HA! Congrats on the 100 posts ;) I'd take a $100 gift card to Lou Malnati's (Chicago Pizza is da best!) If my husband had $100 I think he would buy a 100 gallon fish tank...

  17. Congrats on your 100th post. I'm almost there, only 9 more posts to go! :)

Loved this answer: Something I’d gladly take 100 of: Cats! Just kidding. My limit has always been 99.

  18. Congratulations! Huge milestone!
What you'd do with 100 of free money had me cracking up. I was given a $100 visa gift card about 3 months ago and can't let myself spend it. I have no idea why.

  19. Congrats on your milestone. I love your 100 things and I was shocked to learn you live 100 miles from Toronto. That's my hometown and I didn't realize you were so close by. Give it a big hug from me when you visit.

I love to hear from my readers, so don't be shy. :) Thanks for being here!
